Some strategies to motivate my students to improve their writing skill.

Writing is a form of communication to people express their feelings and opinions that involves their learning in different aspects of their lives.
I use some strategies to motivate my students to improve their writing skill. I think these and others can put into practice in different platforms or apps we find on Internet.

POSTERS:

In class the students have magazines, newspapers, etc and cut out all the images they need to create their own posters and organize them based on the instructions they receive. When they have their posters, they start writing the story and receive all the help they need.

ALBUM:

I distribute papers and the students draw the topic they want to write and color the picture and decorate it in the way they want. Next, they describe their drawing and use all their abilities to express their ideas. Finally, I collect the students’ drawings and make a book cover with a title. Then, I read aloud page by page with the entire class. In that way they check their progress and feel confident with their work doing in class.

TEAMWORK:

The students work by pairs, and one of them start writing the story so the other one has to continue with the sequence of the story.

MIND MAP:

I elicit from the students different things based on a specific topic and make a mind map with their ideas. Then, they describe their mind map to the class.

YOUR OWN SONG:

I distribute paper to the students to write and decorate their own version of the song, I write the outline on board. Then, the students complete the song with the appropriate vocabulary and the structure they need. After that, the students sing their song.
